Places to visit in Taipei!

Yes! Aren't you gonna read on? What? My Taiwan trip la! LOL! I l kid...! Okay be serious, yes my taiwan trip. =.=" (what's the diff?!)

Day 2 of Taiwan trip

Woke up very early at 5am! Why?? Because we have to make our way down from Taoyuan to Taipei! So i was really very unwilling to wake up BUT i still did, given that i am such a bed hogger! So we made our way down, the bus journey almost killed me because i have not got my daily dosage, coffee! So look at me..
Can see that i'm having a ulti bad mood right?? LOLLL! Ya, that's just me when i don't get my coffee in the early morning. And where are we? We are at...
Taoyuan Express monorail station!
Yea and so i finally got my coffee!

And i'm actually drinking in the station. Yes! IN THE STATION! They are so different from SG that they actually allow drinks in the station and they have rubbish bins allocated in the stations too! How nice, been so long that i can enjoy my coffee while waiting for train. :) The express monorail will take around 30mins from Taoyuan to Taipei. It's considered pretty fast because if we were to take coach, i guess it would take around an hour or 2?

As we board the train, people start to glue their eyes on their devices again.
Typical Singaporeans

See they don't even realize i was snapping away. =.=

Here we are!
I'm so excited!! I know this is not my 1st time to Taipei BUT i'm just feeling the excitement like as if it's my 1st time there! D:

Hahahahaha! I know this photo of mine is super unglam! Because the pigeons behind me they were like FLYING AROUND and i'm so scared that they will knock onto me! Apparently, there's ALOT of pigeons there!

This place is very beautiful except for the down part that the sun was melting me slowly. T.T
Supposed to be a place where they placed the remains of their 国父,蒋介石. However it has been shifted to somewhere else and this place became a national theatre for musical and arts & also a sight seeing place for visitors.

Because i couldn't tolerate the sun, we decided to move on quickly to our next stop on the itinerary - Wh! I can't wait to see the Lovers' bridge! :D
Here we are! I was so excited to walk around here because i heard it very nice! So i quickly made my way to the very famous bridge! And before i reached the bridge, i saw..
So nice!!! It's a must snap! Then i quickly went on to the bridge! And started to ask Daddy help me take LOTSA photos. I was thinking he must have thought his daughter is mad! But no, he joined in the fun with me! :D

Ya, that's my Daddy! I know his 3/4 pants looked super unglam but i still love him! HAHAHAHAHAH!! There's alot more photos! But i think if i'm gonna post this up you guys will go crazy because the post's gonna be SUPER LENGTHY! So, if you wanna see more photos of Lover's bridge, you can go to my facebook

After this, we went to 九份旧道. The lunch there was so so only. But i realized that place is a very good place for streets photography.

This is what we called the 戳戳乐. Basically, what you have to do is simply poke through the boxes and you will get random prizes depending on your luck! Brought back so much memories!

Retro Coca-cola bottles

After this, we decided to stop by at 101 for a break before heading to Miao Li. And at 101, i saw this..
Teehee! How can i not snap it? :D And as i go in further i took really alot of photos but these people they were walking like as if they were dying from thirst & so i ended up taking self portraits AGAIN.

Hahahahahaha! My bro says i looked like as if i'm at some european country, wear until so thick! LOLLLLL! But u know what, it's really cold in 101! Not that i'm trying to act cool or what hor! =P

Our next destination was 飛牛牧場 at Miao Li. It's a cow farm & we will be settling for the night there too! When i heard the word "farm", i was like "oh shit! sure alot mosquitoes!" But nevermind, since we are on a trip we should just be spontaneous!

And so the minute we arrived there, we headed straight for dinner - Steamboat!!
Saw the brown bottle at the bottom right hand corner of the collage? That bottle is actually processed milk from the cows in the farm. I didn't drink it because i don't like milk. However according to my brother, he said it's pretty nice. But i wonder... heh! I'm really not a fan of dairy products.

Wooooo! No mosquitoes!!! HAHAHAHAHAH! Air-con is love! :D I've got this room all to myself! This farm is really good with their amenities. They have free wifi service here and i guess this appeals to most of us! And their tv stations have really wide range of choices to choose from! As we know when we go overseas, most hotels we go to will not have wide range of tv stations not to even mention in house movies! BUT this hotel is different! They have english and chinese in-house movies for us to choose & of course not to mention their local tv stations are already like a wide range. I was really spoilt for choice and ended up switching channels to and fro. LOL! In fact i would love to stay there for a few more nights. :)

If you wanna see more photos of my Taiwan trip, add me on facebook!

Stay tuned people! I'll be back very soon!

So add me, maybe? Hahahahahah!

I'm not going to blog......!

Ya i'm not going to blog......... at a shot for my Taiwan trip! I realized it's taking me ALOT of time to edit and resize my photos even before i can upload them and blog about it! After a week, i'm still at Day 2's photos. Too much! This is it! I'm gonna blog post by post on a daily basis from Day 1 to Day 5 while i'll upload and edit the photos!

Day 1 of Taiwan trip

All the 5 of us were so excited that we barely catch any sleep, especially me! Whenever i have to travel, i always can't sleep. Because i'd be so afraid that i'll oversleep & miss the flight. I can't recall when this habit started but when i realized it, it has been going on for a few years already.

So before we head out..

The brother was panicking when he can't find his passport in his room. But little did he realized that he actually passed it to my step mom already. =.= Look at him, he's still so tired while i'm still wide awake. Must be the effect of coffee which i drank before leaving house.

We got really hungry when we reached airport.  My step mom tried to be smart alec, even before we can suggest having our brekky at where she said, "let's go Box toast!" Instantly me, bro and sis looked at each other & burst out laughing after a few seconds! Brother said, "it's Toast Box la! Geh kiang!!" LOLLL! Epic phail, seriously! HAHAHAHAHA! But that lightened up everyone's mood! =P

We took Transasia. It's my 1st time taking this airline & i start to wonder is their on-board food nice? Indeed, it failed me. =P
This is their so-called western brekky. Totally tasteless. I'm so glad i had my Box Toast  Toast Box earlier on! I did not even touch the whole set. Lesson learnt, always order your food when you book your air tickets!

And here we come, Taiwan!
1st stop, Taoyuan Airport. Then we headed to our hotel straight. It was a really small room & i shared with sister.
You know the 1st thing to do when you're in a hotel room - TAKE MANY PHOTOS! & i meant self portrait! LOLLL!

Yea in fact i have many more. These are just a few of them. LOL! I love photo-taking ma! Hah! So the rest of the day what we did were mainly eating and eating and shopping!

Along this street, there's alot of cosmetics shops and ladies apparels. It's all going at a very low price like $5 for a box of 10 pairs fake eyelashes. Their bikini are selling like only $15 there! I bought a set from there & it's of good material too! Love it!

But besides, shopping & eating. There's limited things you can do at Taoyuan. I guess the next entertainment would be KTV. I was very tempted to visit their KTV however Daddy didn't want to so i gave it a miss.

If you love photo taking of scenary or streets, you also can walk along the main streets of Taoyuan during the night to capture some of the nightlife there. It's pretty nice, especially those small alleys. Try to go the their Taoyuan night market too. There's alot of nice clothes which are going at wholesale price & you can't get that kinda prices in Singapore! However my advise, do change enough Taiwan notes there because they do not have money changer anywhere. You have to go to a bank just to change money or you have to look for an ATM to withdraw, which is hardly seen anywhere.

We only spent a day at Taoyuan because we are going to travel half of Taiwan, up till Taichung for the next of the 4 days!

You can view more photos at my facebook
So add me, maybe? LOL!

And before i go off, please help me to "Like" 2 of my photos for a competition coming up. It's a search for music video female lead. Please help me! Hahahahaha! Just "Like" the 2 photos and share the link with your friends! =P

Photo 1 & Photo 2

There is also an event for this competition which will be held at Nex Mall on 9th June 2-4pm! I will be there together with the rest of the contestants! Do come down to support me & there will be a voting contest on the day itself! It's gonna be a very fun event & you will get to see Cheryl Wee, Ms Singapore Universe 2009! Don't miss it!

So friends, please give me your full support by helping me to "Like" 2 of my photos! Photo 1 & Photo 2

Thank you! :)

And hang on for my Day 2 of Taiwan trip!

5 reasons why we hate twitter!

As the social network expands, we are exposed to many different social media platforms. The earliest in my recollection was Friendster, MySpace then there comes facebook, twitter, tumblr, linkedin, formspring, weibo and now we even have this application called Path. Too many for us to handle, too messy. However i remember even before all these, what we had were only email and maybe blog? How about IRC, ICQ, skype, msn messenger, yahoo, aol? Back to the basics, to who we were. I think that's the best way to communicate with each other. :)

Now i'm here today not to talk about how many social media platforms we have, i'm here to talk about how much we HATE twitter! Yes fyi, i'm a user of twitter as well. However i didn't really start using my account only after 3 years i registered it.

1. Twitter was initially formed for the purpose of microblogging. Yes i did mentioned microblogging! BUT people seriously thought THEY WERE BLOGGING! *gasp!* Okay okay, i know you're sad but you really don't have to flood as if it's a journal and it's flooding our timeline!! In fact, i'm fine if you wanna be sad BUT just don't make the people around you to be sad by spreading it around. Look! Perhaps the person whom made you sad don't really care if you are. The more you show it onto any social network platform, the more complacent they'll be. So, why make them feel good? Be the smart one!

2. Next, i really don't understand why # tags are needed? Before twitter was invented, "#" you were just a button on the phone! =.= This # tag is more or less getting like a punctuation mark these days. And since we already have a search bar, searching for something with "#" will only display results with # included and what about those without # tags? So, i don't really understand the point behind it. And this # tag will in turn link to the "trends" in twitter. Trends like "yourthebest", i supposed it's "you're the best". I don't know why people love to do it that way, it doesn't piss me neither it's making me happy too.

3. We all know twitter is actually for people to rant, share their happiness or promote their business online. So we don't really care if your girl/guy is being picked up by others. In case you have that mindset of "my gf/bf is hot, so i can haolian to whole world". FYI, your gf/bf ISN'T A TEMPERATURE. They are beautiful/handsome, not HOT! Also we wouldn't care when and where you're going to be at, we DON'T REALLY want to know your personal schedule. I believe you should have a smart phone and there are applications inside which will help you to keep track of your schedule. So i suggest you might wanna keep it in there instead of sharing it with the whole world. We are least interested unless you're a celebrity, we'll probably take notice of it.

4. Now, i believe some of you sure have encountered people who's really crazily gaga over a certain artiste and he/she will flood your timeline on a daily basis like..
"@[artiste name] He's so charming! OMG!!! His new movie is awesome!! You guys should really catch it ASAP!!"
"@[artiste name] I love you! You're sooooooooo cute!! I even dream of you at night!" (okay i know i'm being a lil' extreme here)
And they are hoping that one fine day their idol will reply to their tweets and they will go..
"OMGOMGOMGOMGx10000!! @[artiste name] has replied me on twitter!!!!! *screams* *jumps* *faints* "
Seriously, you don't have to wait till a day your idol will reply you. Chances are, they'll probably not reply you at all. There are too many tweets mentioning them and if they have to reply, i think they could spend their brunch, dinner and supper doing so. So STOP flooding our timeline please. :)

5. Lastly, i can never understand how people type like this..
"I lurvee euu boi. even if it doesn't meanzx a thing to you nao, i still lurvee euu. Puhlease come backx to me nao. ii missh euu` sh0 muchxz."

And if you realized, it's actually 140 characters no less. SERIOUSLY do we really need to understand a language like this and with a limitation of 140 characters in twitter, it can kill me literally anytime with the shorthand/shortcuts(whatever you call it). *roll eyes*

Oh ya, if you're thinking why i actually have those languages flooding my twitter? No i have none, i just happened to see some of the posts from my lil' sis friend's twitter's account. And i'm not gonna be mean to name them out here, besides everyone has their rights. :)

Woah!! Very lengthy post, i know. But ya, too much already la.  And from the above post, i am definitely not pointing fingers at anyone. So chillax. :)
